Hugh Hastings is a documentary photographer who specialises in a narrative style of picture taking. He is also a public speaker and photography brands ambassador, TEDx speaker (2018) and TEDx speaker mentor (2019), a speaker for the ShelterBox disaster relief charity and a Sony Alpha Creator.

Hugh was trained as a photographer in a West London studio - Photographic Techniques Ltd at 38 Osnaburgh Street - from the age of sixteen and has now worked as a professional for over 40 years, covering architecture to social projects. He has lived in Falmouth since 1994.

Hugh's first love was sports photography and he was Chelsea Football Club's Official Photographer for 10 years and still works for the Club today as a retained member of their Comms team staff, managing the photography archives and online workflow of images to external and internal clients.

Over the last seven years Hugh has won a reputation for highly engaging public talks on photography at locations including London Olympia, the Brighton Fringe, Peter Jones of Knightsbridge, Vienna, Palma Mallorca and multiple appearances at the annual Photography Show NEC Birmingham from 2016 to 2020.

Away from his camera Hugh paddle-boards all year round off the Cornish coast and is the author of a children's thriller called 'High Tide' (Mabecron Books 2012).
